George is a 7th grade student who receives special education services under the autism eligibility category. George has received special education services since he was three years old, and he was diagnosed with autism before he entered kindergarten. George spends approximately 50% of his day in the resource room, and receives push-in support for gym, art, and math classes.

George engages in high rates of stereotypy that impact his ability to learn academic, social, and functional skills. Like many students with autism, George has idiosyncratic interests. He enjoys community helpers and often sings jingles from local plumbing, electrician, and construction commercials while wiggling his fingers in front of his eyes.
